Barry joined Dave Lamson (Fraser Valley Regional District director for Electoral Area 'E') during a visit to Unsworth Elementary School in Chilliwack. Mr. Lamson brought 50 salmon eggs provided by the Chilliwack River fish hatchery for the grade 5 students to incubate and later release into the river. Barry explained the importance of enhancing salmon stocks and keeping the water in the fish tank cold and clean so the salmon eggs can hatch. Mr. Lamson has been involved in the "salmonids and students" program for many years, in partnership with the Chilliwack School District and the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
