Barry and Chilliwack Fraser Canyon MP Chuck Strahl participated in a sod turning ceremony for the new Kawkawa Lake Road bridge project, along with District of Hope Mayor Laurie French, Chief Andy Alex (Union Bar First Nation), Chief Rhoda Peters (Chawathil First Nation) and Tribal Chief, Tyrone McNeil of Sto:lo Tribal Council. Barry and Chilliwack Fraser Canyon MP Chuck Strahl toured one of the area’s largest employers, Britco Structures in Agassiz. Britco employees are constructing 124 seniors’ rental housing modular units which will be shipped to rural communities across BC providing affordable housing for independent seniors and persons with disabilities. The project has been made possible through the Canada-British Columbia Affordable Housing Agreement, and is helping maintain 90 good-paying jobs in Agassiz. July 2010. | Hi Res Download
